Yeah, can see that. It seems that batsmen don’t have the ability to bat for long periods anymore, so the trend won’t go away anytime soon.

Couldn't they have reserve/standby days while still having the test as a nominal 4 days?How would that make any difference if they’re only lasting 2.5?
All 5 days does is allow for some bad weather, I guess.

Yes, they also lose a lot of senior players to the world money go round of franchise white ball cricket.How bad are the West Indies, Boy they need some money pumped into grassroots cricket and build a test team for the future, I heard they lose a lot of kids to US sports because grassroots cricket is now 3rd or 4th choice.

Has a nice reverse sweep in his locker…..Never seen anything much of smith but seems a good all rounder! Pity Anderson won't get another bat too
