Wait and see how it all boils down. Sounds like a young rugby boy was amongst it and on the piss with his team as well. Both cricket and rugby are very boozy sports to be involved in as players. The cricket team bowled barely 20 overs in 2 days. The rugby team he was in had just won. Probably fuck all in this tbf

Stokes is now toast sadly...great player on his day but also terninally arrogant and stupid. As soon as he won one match his first thought was getting pissed.

Ultimately, having a piss-up and a scrap was more important to him than captaining his country.

I think if Key ignores this latest episode he's done, so will protect himself.

No. Don’t think Sam has done enough to merit a Test recall, last one 2021, let alone Captaincy.
The game is reeling from the Ashes, the brevity of this weekend, and now this incident. They need to get through it and hope that Stokes can show enough maturity to see them through to the end of next summer. At the same time, they need to start planning a genuine successor, or it will all fall on Root.

Key appointed North because of his relationship with Stokes at Durham, which it was hoped would stabilise matters, so it’s certainly an early test for them all.

He’s a bowling all rounder though, which is something else England will need once Stokes goes.
