You don't bowl first on this wicket through choice.

You're concerned about England's batting which is why you're saying that. But it's the right move.

Apart from the fact it's obviously a batting friendly wicket, I think they've done it becasue it's one thing trying to bazball this Australia attack on a blank slate, it's another thing entirely to do it after Australia have made 500 on a good batting wicket.

Today is also the last hot sunny day and toiling for 90 overs with anderson, broad and stokes fitness in question might not be what they wanted. A lot cooler and overcast from tomorrow.
 
That's what you get with these openers. They play shots, they don't leave many and Duckett in particular is aggressive. Just need to make sure one doesn't bring several! Big series this for Pope. We really need him to have a great series.
 
Whatever the conditions I always take each 50 runs as a bench mark. If we can get to 50 for 1 then that is a great place to be. 100 for 1 is excellent, 100 for 2 is doing ok. 100 for 3 is not good.
