The ECB are going to have to look at these central contracts again.

I feel the best players are getting flogged to death with the calendar their paymasters are filling up. Their injuries are bodies saying we can't do it anymore.

I can't see them winning the world cup.
Rumours are that Wood maybe set to.refuse a central contract as he might want to travel the world playing t20 and reaping the financial benefits

International Cricket is about to face an existential crisis.

Franchise cricket is taking over. Why would players play for less?

If it goes 100% down the franchise route, I’ll stop watching most of it, but that’s irrelevant. 20/20 is better for TV schedules and peoples’ lives in general.

Nobody would ever convince me that it’s better than test cricket.

I'm fortunate enough that I enjoy all formats almost equally , I do agree regarding franchise I will never have the affiliation I have with Lancs and England with any other team

These games will mean nothing really because the World Cup is in India on totally different wickets!

Spinners wise is it just Rashid and Livingstone the options?!

Yeah. It’s tough when you’re watching the Melbourne Chuzzwazzers play the Sydney Funnelwebs, both of whom have random players from all over the place.

I was about to say Root is available as a spinner if needed in both his game and India but didn't expect him to bowl much and on he comes

Are they producing there pitches flat and bouncy for the World Cup? Or hard and dry that will take spin? Or maybe a bit of both?
I’ve not seen anything that is WC specific, but they probably can do both to a certain extent. Especially on wickets they are going to play on themselves.

I think the current game shows England not to be in a great place. The batting was dull and uninspiring, a complete lack of the aggression cultivated by Morgan. On the same pitch NZ have made it look easy against our bowlers. Very poor

I was watching the ODI with Eng vs NZ and are England playing the fools with the World Cup just around the corner,
Very poor all round by both batting and bowling and also team selection and it's just so boring and slow going

We are used to England OD side to be very settled this is not the case right now although we do have talent . I'm just hoping it's a little like City at the beginning of last season where pep was tinkering around especially at the back to find partnerships that work , and pray its resolved b4 the world cup
