A 50 over team needs at least of the Brook/Root/Malan type that can anchor an innings.
Buttler is a certainty, as is Bairstow. We batted below our level today, but still got nearly 300.
Ok, so who are they and who should replace them?nearly 300 in the modern ODI 50 overs cricket is not good enough anymore, England maybe was playing around and not wanting to show their hand too soon, with very poor batting and bowling by England and NZ-worthy winners

I think if we made Stokes captain for the World Cup, that we’d have a far bigger chance of winning it. Buttler seems passive.
