Need a good 90-120 from Root

Honestly he’s batted better and more consistently than Duckett across this whole series so far - though Duckett did score well at Lords.

The problem is, and it is a problem, is he gets out the same way nearly every innings after having made a decent start, he didn't need to play at that ball, and it wasn't the first to be played at this morning that could just be left alone, we don't need to score 5 an over today, bat sensibly we'll have it won before the rain turns up.

Crawley shut his eyes when the ball was near his bat then, seeing the replay of the out.

Just think , if Root held on to that catch when Marsh was on 12 we would only need about 150

It’s 157 remaining not 357.

Even if he stays in the game will be over long before he can get 120.

We just need a couple of 40-50 run innings. Root does that and we’ll be under 100 remaining.

We need 251 and he’s got 44 of them.

I wish he could convert these starts into big innings, but he’s doing his bit.

You guys keep getting worked up that Crawley gets 30-40 runs when that’s all we need from him. He’s stuck around for 20 overs, seen off the new ball, scored decent runs and now Root and Brook aren’t facing a new ball.

well, the first one. We got a second new ball 70 overs early however….

If the ball they change to instantly behaves in a way that is massively different to the ball they changed from then the umpires have got it wrong and should change it again.
