Cricket Thread

What a pointless set of games this looks like being, one result probably out of the lot. Early April is too early for 4 day cricket in this country.
I remember going to the first CC game of the season at the real OT sometime in the early/ mid 80s, I think, against Hampshire. There was hardly any play in the morning session and we left for Warwick Rd station early afternoon in a snowstorm. By the time we got to Piccadilly, the sun was out and by the time stumps were drawn, Stephen Jefferies had hit a century.

I remember him bowling the Aussies out in about two hours in 1968(?) to draw the ashes series. A wet wicket on which he was deadly.
RIP DEADLY DEREK.
PS Just looked it up. It was 4 wickets in 27 balls, half an hour. I got the year right, though!

Imagine trying to explain to someone who doesn't understand Cricket. That between all the teams they played 36 days worth of Cricket and it was all for nothing and they all drew...

The kookaburra ball is rubbish.

Batters still play like it’s a duke and don’t score quickly enough to give their bowlers time to bowl out the opposition twice.

That‘s before you factor in the April hail showers.
