Not a bad start to the season for Tom Banton. Scored 371 for Somerset against Worcestershire. Somerset scored 670/7d; four of the Worcester attack went for 100+, another one went for 89. That pitch at Taunton must be like a road. Mind you, the visitors only managed 154 on it. Looks like a serious hiding heading their way.

Bit of a blocking session, but I wonder if the weather was oddly poor.

The last man faced 44 balls in 37 minutes - Somerset no. 1 and 11 (Leach) bowled 115 of the 200 overs.
Looks like an opening seamer may have been hurt, but that seems very generous behaviour at the last man.

Leach was causing problems for last man on debut but you're right, not to try an over of seam as Worcs weren't able to shield the strike. More exciting few hours than that derby yesterday !
