Cricket Thread

Haven't been inside O.T. for a long time, only gone past it on the train, though I was a Lancashire member for nearly 20 years. What a mess the new (not so new, now) stadium is, especially the monstrosity towering over the Pavilion. But someone please remind me, when and why did the Lancs committee decide to move the wicket from side-on to the pavilion, and was it controversial at the time?

I know that the modern developments to the ground keep the money rolling in but to me it's not a pretty sight. I wonder if other once-attractive county grounds have suffered a similar fate, such as Worcester and Hove?
I think the wicket was turned around about 10-15 years ago because later in the season the sun would be setting directly behind the bowlers arm causing play to be stopped for Sun stopped play.

It was 2011 when the CC was won due to playing home games on a result wicket at Aigburth all season so allow the work to be done, plus one at Birkdale and Blackpool too.

Looking at the pitch now means day 5 will be hard to and on think we need 100 lead and it’s possible
A. Get to parity sometime after lunch, declare, then bowl India out for 200 by stumps tomorrow or early on sunday. Knock off the runs before close of play on sunday.
B. Get a lead around 100-150 by tea tomorrow. Declare, then bowl India out for 100. Innings win.

Captaincy? Piece of piss.

I'm off to OT today, looking like a nice day for it. Can't wait to get on the beer after a busy week at work.
Should be a perfect day out. Enjoy mate. I had the choice of the test match and LIV golf (being held in my village again) but going to Anglesey with the missus’s family for the week. Talk about bad planning!!!! Would have been cricket today and LIV tomoz and Sunday :(
