So are you happy with the setup? an ageing England Squad with little else to pick from other than Stokes who can not bowl

Sorry, I don't say anything like fuck off or would call anybody shit
Am I happy with the squad? Yeah, mostly.

Can I name others that could maybe squeeze in? Maybe, but inexperienced.

Would I have picked Woakes to start? No.

The 4 that didn’t start today were Ali, Atkinson, Stokes and Willey.

So maybe I may have picked Ali instead of Woakes.

I’m not sure that would have changed the match outcome.

So, now we’ve established what I may have done, what would you have done to change the result beyond turning into Roy Keane and telling the whole squad not to enjoy themselves and just do their jobs.

Roy Keane hasn’t been a coach for quite a while now as that form of coaching is obsolete.

Well out played today, Afghanistan completely deserved it.

Long way to go yet but England are really going to have to turn it around to make the top 4 - you'd say at this point it's very likely that India, NZ and SA get 3 of the 4 spots.

It's felt to me like we've not really taken ODI cricket serious since we won it in 2019, there's been two T20 World Cups in that time so it feels like we've focused on that more than 50 over cricket. The spine of the team just feels a bit stale, Brook and Curran the only two starters today that you could imagine still playing in 4 years.

There's been a lot of names who've dipped their toe in the white ball team over the last few years, Salt, Banton, Potts, Tongue, Ahmed even Crawley - not sure if any of them clearly take players positions.

Got to hope that the experience in that squad can get us some results, otherwise it could turn out to be a pretty pathetic showing.

I think you are sadly probably right, but it only takes a couple of batsmen to find form and we could win every game we play.

That’s how fickle ODI cricket is.

We’d smash the 100 World Cup!

Tongue has never played white ball cricket for England. I personally think he’s a much better bowler than Atkinson.

He hasn't played a 50 over game for any team this year thanks to the 100.

Three years of the 100 means most fringe prospects for England ODI have stopped playing 50 over county cricket, and the results out now getting to the national team with an ageing side with a lack of options.

Sam Curran shite.. supposedly an all rounder but doesn’t score runs and poor with ball… Tom Curran is the better one but had a few injuries! Curran livingstone woakes out… willey stokes Ali in

That's also Brooks issue

Sometimes it's just a simple mind change that is needed, Forget the past winning it 4 years ago. Like we are still the world champions, Sorry the others want your scalp right here right now,

England will be going home pretty quickly if we don't change our mindset and start to fight for the right to win it again, We have 6 games left and pretty much no room for another bad day

South Africa, Sri Lanka, India, Australia, Neverlands, Pakistan

It was a very bad result for England, But Afghanistan was great in everything they did,

Did England really want it enough, By looking at the faces of the whole England setup, It was just smiles and laughing and looking like it was a holiday in the sun for the whole of the squad, I doubt there is any coming back from this and the Knockouts are miles away if you lose to Afghanistan.

It's a Dads Army of a ODI squad. old age and little boy Brook as Pike

Yep and was thinking has stokes coming out of retirement rocked the boat in any way?

Ok, so the players aren’t too old now, it’s just that they don’t care enough?
