Considering the situation, common sense would say 0-0 is better than leaving at 0-1 pushing too hard for a 1-0.

It’s a long summer and with the way we have thrown wickets away it’s a bit crazy to not be playing a bit more sensibly.

Ausies are on top here.

Let's see how we go about the afternoon session. We need to put 50 runs on the score for no loss to wrestle this back the other way.

If we had used the same theory over the last 13 tests, we wouldn't have won 11 of them . It's the way we play now

Need another 100 minimum, ideally 150.

IF Stokes & Bairstow get in then we could be declaring by Tea...

With one eye on the weather and the forecast of rain tomorrow, one can't help think that England's approach today has been foolhardy. Australia shouldn't be in a strong position to win here, yet if this session sees England out for under 250, then there's likely to be sufficient good weather to see them home. Big couple of hours.

Steady as she goes from here on. We're not in a position to "bazball" our way to a glorious victory. Try to get to tea without losing any further wickets. Then reassess the situation.
