So let’s have a bit of perspective, he’s doing OK. Could be better, but not the reason England are 2-0 down and much better than anyone else would be doing opening - including Bairstow, Foakes whoever.

And if he does work on whatever it is that’s costing him - concentration mostly- he’s got excellent technique and scores very quickly, so it’s well worth England sticking with him given he’s only 25.

I gave up on hoping for perspective here on day one of the first test
 
I’d say Australia are marginally in front given we put them in and we’ll be batting last.

We fought back well with the ball but we really should have dismissed them for under 200.

Mark Wood, England the ECB should send him to the people who built Steve Austin the bionic man after crashing, they put him back together and he was alright for 5 series
 
Question, can the England openers play Bazball in test cricket with the new ball,

If the answer is NO, then Stokes and Somebody else should open the bat and smash it out of the ground and then send in the openers at 4 and 5
 
A very personal comment from Nick Knight just now, he says they have been leaving a lot more grass on the women’s wickets, it makes for a better game apparently

Marginally? Well in front there day today! Come tomorrow 1pm if we are 150/4 we just ahead because we know we can lose 4/5 wickets for next to nowt! Let’s just hope Root has his “Real” serious head on..
