The three of us in the office did our test by test predictions for the entire series. If the Aussies win this one, I'll have got 5/5 results correct. I know nobody is arsed by this information but typing it out has made me feel superior for a few moments.

How can you blame them for just sitting in England would do the same if not worst.

The moaners about how I went on about losing the first test or the 2nd test, well this for this sort of thing I could see happing, it's not rocket science with the ashes in England the weather will play a major part and you need to be still in the series going into the last couple of tests.

That would be the case even if we won this game. :(
I know. I was just making the point that Bazball, exciting as it undoubtedly is, hasn't really worked for us in this series. A suicidal declaration in the first test did for us, too many dropped catches next time out, we won the Headingley test and the glorious Mancunian/British weather put the mockers on us last time out. Those first two tests did for us.

I just think it's not very clever? England have obviously gotten one of these shite balls that is completely dead and does nothing. They'll just bowl it until they can change it, we ca see them getting the Umpire ring gauges out every other over. Eventually they'll replace it.

At that point, Labuschagne might regret scoring at 0.7 RPO if the replacement ball starts doing stuff.

My god this is dull. Seems like with Moeen unable to bowl they're waiting for the seamers to ruin themselves before maybe scoring a bit more. It might be cricket that wins test matches, but I'm glad Baz and Stokes want to inspire the next generation and fans with more entertaining cricket.

I think it's pretty difficult to see for the batsmen, and England are bowling very well.

That's a great catch by Root though - I thought it was the keeper's really though!

Give me Bazball over this any day of the week.
Me too but I do think there's nothing wrong with digging in when it comes to test cricket. However, I don't think this is the time or place for it. Australia have retained the Ashes and are only facing a modest first innings England total rather than looking to bat out the final day and a half to save the match - like Atherton's 185 not out in South Africa that time - so scoring at this rate makes little sense to me.

Bob on. They are just doing it to make a point! Great. Let’s kill the game. Let’s bore people away from watching. Playing for a draw from ball one after you’ve retained the ashes. Is there more of a dislikable sports team outside old toilet and Canfield?
