So it looks like Jimmy will be playing for Lancs next season. I've also seen a report Lancs are trying to bring Daryl Mitchell back as one of the overseas players, would be a good signing if it happens.

Absolutely, you're a long time retired, plenty of time for coaching afterwards. Just hoping that he's going to play the full season and not bugger off halfway through for the England backroom team.

If he wants to play on he needs the best sports science, gym, physio, which Lancashire have. It is worth a game a season (like in 2024) or maybe 2 to access this.

He will lose access in Dec otherwise. 2 days in the Bangladesh PL will be the same as a whole CC season for him, so I don't expect to see him play much. The state of play is even contracted players who didn't play for England in 2024 didn't play CC and it was up to them. E.g. Luke Wood didn't play for England or any CC games but had a contract for all formats.

Daniel Gidney, the CEO, explained back in October that players with all format contracts could not be made to play in any game if they were playing franchise cricket as the money for the CC was derisory in comparison.
