15 required off the last over. Far closer than it should have been after the start Lancs made
2 wides and a no ball in the penultimate over (and a 4 off the free hit) didn’t help15 required off the last over. Far closer than it should have been after the start Lancs made
It’ll be a stamina issue for the ones that can be arsed to make themselves available for the 4 day games.Lancs playing all the quick bowlers with a bit of aggression in the T20, and all the military medium trundlers in the CC, not sure I can work that one out.
Anyway a much needed win tonight.
Tbf Aspinwall has had an injury but Blatherwick has been with the CC squad a few times and not been picked, not sure about the Stanley situation tbh. It’ll be a stamina issue for the ones that can be arsed to make themselves available for the 4 day games.
Different ball game completelyJennings baffles me, he plays in CC and scores 50 off 200 balls, he plays T20 and gets 66 off 38 balls.
Just that one bad over tonight……Tbf Aspinwall has had an injury but Blatherwick has been with the CC squad a few times and not been picked, not sure about the Stanley situation tbh.
Just find it a bit frustrating that we have some quickish bowlers yet the 70 odd mph trundlers get picked in the CC.
I watched Blatherwick play for a County 11 last season against the Kiwis and he certainly didn't look out of place.
Obviously, but why is he so slow in format, and then mad quck in another, if he can do that in T20, surely he can score quicker in CC.Different ball game completely
He can score quickly in the red ball game but I wonder whether he is conscious of the fragility of Lancs batting and purposefully reins himself in.Obviously, but why is he so slow in format, and then mad quck in another, if he can do that in T20, surely he can score quicker in CC.
“The bowler’s Holding, the batsman’s Willey.” Brian Johnson.Looks like Windies cricket is really in a bad place at the moment. The men got battered yesterday, and it looks like the women are about to lose their 4th ODI in England. I'm of an age where I can remember when the Windies pace attack would scare the shit out of you. Holding, Garner, Roberts, Croft, Ambrose, Patterson and Walsh. Lots of English batsmen must have had nightmares the night before going out to face them the next morning. I'd love to know what those guys (who are still with us) think of what's happened to their team.
Very funny.“The bowler’s Holding, the batsman’s Willey.” Brian Johnson.
That was a 50 with the highest strike rate in his career at 173, he only One other 50 in his last 15 with a 122 strike rate. He was dropped after 3 games in the Big Bash and sat out the rest. That was likely to be his best performance for 5 years in T20. His usual form is getting a 30+ every 2 games, which is okay at T20 and got him the Hundred and Big Bash gigs last year.Obviously, but why is he so slow in format, and then mad quck in another, if he can do that in T20, surely he can score quicker in CC.
