Quite rare to have a spinner who also makes a quality batsman. There's Rashid Khan, Narine, Ashton Agar etc in the T20 as decent 'whackers' but I dunno if you can count them as quality batsmen.

Only player that comes to mind is Graeme Swan who averages 25 runs in first class cricket and normally came in at 5 or 6 during his stint at Northamptonshire.

But it sounds like Rehan is another level in the batting stakes.
Jadeja…

Absolutely, hes definitely not just a bowler who can swing at it. Time will tell, but I actually think Rehan will fall into the Batting All Rounder category, he looks a natural batsman to me.

I've just checked and this season he averages 36 with the bat and 34 with the ball, not bad at all for a 20 year old.

From a lanky perspective Brad Hodge, Carl Hooper, Andrew Symonds.

Throw in Darren Lehmann.

Maybe all Batsmen who bowled, and better at one day.

Shakib al Hassan

Agar first player to score a half century on debut as an 11, scoring 98. first class avg of 28. never really did much as a bowler.

Vettori was competent with the bat. 6 test centuries.
Ashwin also has several centuries, and Shastri had even more, although he drifts more towards a batsman who could bowl spin.

Ashwin is the one. Superb all round cricketer. 3,500 test runs at an average of 26 (6 centuries) and 537 wickets at an average of 24. Got 37 five wicket hauls too.

Been down to Leicestershire again this afternoon, and that Rehan Ahmed really is turning into some player. He bats at 3 for Leicestershire, wouldn't mind seeing him take Crawley's place at the top of the order for England. Also bowls decent leg spin.
Sadly I’ve almost become an Anyone But Crawley tbh.

(Now watch him go and hit a ton today ;-)

It's difficult because his average is appalling so he shouldn't be in the side if you look at that in isolation. But I don't think there are obvious candidates to replace him and I would expect, as always, there's a view to the Ashes here. His average against Australia is very good, on the extra pace and extra bounce in Australia he's likely to be more comfortable given his height. It will be Ashes or bust for him, and a few others I'm sure.

Ahmed is having a very good season but it's Division 2 and early days. With his ability to bowl as well, it wouldn't be a surprise if he's considered. Tom Haines is another candidate but Bethell is the one they'll be most keen to integrate into the squad. He looks a superb talent. Thrown in the deep end and performed excellently in NZ. Took some wickets too! Averaging 52 with the bat and 26 with the ball in his young test career. He's got a bowling average under his batting average in all three international formats at the moment.

Crawley's average in Australia is 27. I don't think he'll make it to Australia if he fails in the first 3 tests here.

I know Sibley and Hameed don't exactly fall into the 'Bazball' category, but they're averaging 60 and 80 respectively this year. Wouldn't mind seeing either of them opening.

That Lammonby at Somerset looks good as well, I wouldn't mind him getting a call up to open the batting
