Cricket Thread

It is a piss take, 2 Lanky players won it after 8 overs for England, and we go short handed tomorrow by some distance.

Tomorrow should be a 'showcase' for the cricketing calendar (although it should be mid August).

However, the ECB turn it in to a second rate comp by having international T20s on the same weekend. Add to that that the rule which means the Aussies have to return home and we are weak.

Actually, Lancs have got finals day with a much stronger squad than will take part tomorrow.

Put Salt, Buttler, Mahmood and Wood plus Green and Ashton Turner and we look like favourites.

Buttler hit 74 of his 83 in boundaries. 8x4, 7x6. Reminiscent of Peter Marner who scored 52 iirc, all in boundaries many years ago.

I certainly wouldn't want the job of organising the cricket calendar. Must be a nightmare trying to fit in all the different formats and competitions in to what is a pretty short summer that we have in this country.

Having said that, you'd think they'd manage to find a way for what I think is generally recognised as the premier one day competition these days, to not have the finals clash with when half the best players are unavailable through internationals?

Maybe it was just unavoidable? Still looking forward to it. But think Lancs are definitely outsiders of the four now.

Whoever organises the domestic calendar puts the shite hundereds first at the detriment of the other formats, big mistake

The smiling cup goes to Jofra Archer, clearly loving playing for England after all his trials and tribulations.
He looks fit too. Here’s hoping he stays that way in Aus.
