I thought it was Chevrolet not Nike providing the United sponsorship for the deal?TCIB said:Plain Speaking said:Reports they were trying to fund his transfer with external sponsorship?cleavers said:Just posted this in the rag thread on the General Football forum, but it belongs in here too.....
United are not, and never were, likely to be paying that kind of money for CR.
Nike were supposed to help fund it i think i read, could be wrong though.

United seem to have a monopoly on all the media stories at present.sam-caddick said:Madrid want to break the bank for both Suarez and Bale to play with Ronaldo, but Ronaldos demands are ridiculous.
I have said on here so many times Cristiano would never go to France, but if it's true what Monaco are offering in terms of wages and fee, maybe Madrid will be forced to sell seen as though he only has two years left.
I am dreading The Sun picking up on that quote though, they seem to be having their own mission in getting Ronaldo back at United, it's now a daily occurrence you see a United- Ronaldo story in their paper now.

Except United are going to be way off matching Monaco's €100m bid and €20m tax-free wages.
The way they talk about him is like he will return out of loyalty, If they paid him him 350k+ week then he might return on loyalty

Saying that though Tranny would play for the rags for free, like all their players do.

Also if that happened we can wave goodbye to ffp cos etihad can now fund all our transfers there is no way uefa would allow it.
It's not so much the funding of the transfer, but more like the funding of his wages through image rights.
A lower basic could be used, with higher bonuses and a mega image rights deal handed to him by Nike.
