Cristiano Ronaldo

Hes going to stay at Real Madrid until he is past it then 'come home' to rake it in through sponsorships. He'll only return to United when he is no longer relevant at the top level IMO. Real Madrid will absolutely refuse to sell him whilst he is still performing at such a phenomenal level.

Manchester United warn fans against donating to an internet-based campaign aimed at bringing Cristiano Ronaldo back to Old Trafford, reports the Manchester Evening News.

A group of Australian Reds have launched a drive to raise the funds needed to sign the 28-year-old Portuguese superstar, who is currently at Real Madrid.

A United spokesman says: "Manchester United would like to remind fans that decisions over additions to the squad will be made by the manager and the manager alone. We would not want any of our supporters to be under a false impression that anything other than this would ever be the case."

United are not, and never were, likely to be paying that kind of money for CR.

Reports they were trying to fund his transfer with external sponsorship?

Would never happen in the UK

All the united fans who think nike are going to fund this deal really do live in cloud cuckoo land, can you imagine the uproar with every other team that nike make kits for barcelona, psg and ourselves to name three.

Also if that happened we can wave goodbye to ffp cos etihad can now fund all our transfers there is no way uefa would allow it.

It's not so much the funding of the transfer, but more like the funding of his wages through image rights.
A lower basic could be used, with higher bonuses and a mega image rights deal handed to him by Nike.

@Cristiano: All the news about my renewal with Real Madrid are false.

Interesting, that. Bale to Madrid Ronaldo to Monaco.

Madrid want to break the bank for both Suarez and Bale to play with Ronaldo, but Ronaldos demands are ridiculous.

I have said on here so many times Cristiano would never go to France, but if it's true what Monaco are offering in terms of wages and fee, maybe Madrid will be forced to sell seen as though he only has two years left.

I am dreading The Sun picking up on that quote though, they seem to be having their own mission in getting Ronaldo back at United, it's now a daily occurrence you see a United- Ronaldo story in their paper now.
