I know that but everyone has strengthened, Chelsea have a competent coach and a guy that can put the ball in the net, Liverpool have Van dijk and are in for ocampos and Bissouma, united have Ronaldo maybe, Varane and Sancho, we have bought Grealish which is brilliant but we don’t have a person that can finish chances Tottenham Game for example created chances couldn’t finish a striker finishes that Mahrez chance.

this seems like the season when we did not replace Kompany. And we suffered because of that big time.

Of course we don’t know what the ins and outs of all these deals have been, but surely the people up top (Txiki, Ferran, Berrada etc.) must understand how awful the optics are for the club. They will frame it as not even bidding for Kane or choosing to walk away from Ronaldo, but ultimately it looks like we’ve been beaten/bested in both scenarios. It’s that that irritates me more than anything. You go into a new season having already felt like you’ve taken big blows already and are somewhat up against it.

Add in the fact that everyone around us has strengthened, both domestically and on the continent too. Momentum and positive performances can indeed be bought by getting certain players in. I have an awful feeling we’re going to fall well behind because we have missed out on doing just that.

I don’t buy that personally. Maybe there isn’t an absolute world class option but there will be 100% be someone who would have improved us for next season.

That seems to be a self-limiting strategy that's going to hurt us eventually == if it isn't right now given the hole at striker.

The hole is there because we have looked for kane and Spurs were greedy. They lost out. We looked for Ronaldo but somehow possibly ambition , gross self interest , possibly greed all got in the way. We got out . Our hands are clean
