Criticism of Pep

It will be interesting to see and hear the reaction of City fans to Pep Tomorrow and vice-versa.

If we win Tomorrow Night I'd like to see Pep come over to the fans after the final whistle, and for the fans to sing his chant.

Both Pep and the fans need to reconnect again.
And then someone can lob a brick at him.

Pep Guardiola on his comments regarding attendance: "First of all I understand it. Never it was my intention to offend them. But until the last day here I will fight to see the Etihad full every single game. It's up to us to play good, to seduce them to come..."

"We want to see the people enjoy together the games."

“Since I was here I learned about FA Cup and the Premier League, it’s more important to this club than the Champions League, so it’s my mistake that I thought it would be full at 1pm on a Sunday. I will try again to push them to be with us..."

"If it’s full every single game it will be better. It’s so nice to have the fans here, I’ll always be grateful for the support.”

No, its not that, Pep! Majority would turn up if we were Champions league winners or in the Championship. He misses the point.

Why hasn’t any ****, yes I’m using the word ****, at the club explained to him that many people are currently 7 weeks without pay?

Someone needs to chuck him a shovel.

That’s a perfectly fair opinion to hold.

Where do you think I have undersold his achievements? I was very complimentary about his CL win - I think I said it was without question an incredible achievement. Similarly his performance in the League this year is outstanding. The way his team is playing now, after 4 years and a shit load of investment, is unquestionably impressive.

Outside of that, I don’t see a lot to get particularly excited about - so I’d be keen to understand what I’m missing. I mean - Mourinho, Ancelotti and Conte all achieved more in less time (and with far less leeway) at their respective English clubs than Klopp has, so I do genuinely struggle to see what’s so earth shattering about him - once you strip away the fawning press commentary.

There is a space between good and earth shattering no?

Anyhow manager is an important part of any team but to try and do direct comparisons is a futile exercise. The owners chief execs money spent current squad ability etc.... All come into it. The job he has done at Dortmund and now Liverpool is very good and that's why I think they are both great managers. He basically took one more season to complete his team compared to pep and I can't be arsed going into the many reasons that occurred.

Peps record in Europe is starting to look very dodgy as the seasons pass and klopp lost more finals than he should have. Apart from that I think they are as good as it currently gets. Let's hope we win the champions league this year it sometimes works out that way and disregards form.

Love Pep, but I think he’s out of touch with the reality of the situation for many fans (not only us , a great many clubs) yes it would be great to be full every game I’m sure, but people’s money only goes so far, a huge amount of working class fans and working class roots, if I have £50 to spend at the end of the month I’ll spend it on my grandkids, I’ve paid my dues to this club but the days of me lining footballers pockets has well gone, far more important luxuries to spend it on, like food, gas, electric, sorry if you don’t get that Pep.

There's not going to be a problem, when the whistle goes we support the team and the manager.

Pep's got his head up his backside, great manager but showing just how out of touch he is with the fans and normal working class week to week people. Maybe he's looking to wind the fans up so when he leaves it'll be easier? Either way he's going to get some stick the way he is going on.

Despite the Tunnel Club and other pretensions, we are a working class club struck lucky. Pep should sit down with the supporters clubs and even the clubs own tour guides for a reality check. We haven't got the fan base of nited and dipperpool - but all things considered, punch well above our weight compared to all the others.
Stop giving oxygen to our detractors.

Fair enough mate - we may not agree on Klopp, but we can definitely agree on the CL this year. If Pep can bring that dream home, I’m sure neither of us will give a fuck what happens with our noisy neighbours down the other end of the m62!
