Criticism of Pep

That’s a perfectly fair opinion to hold.

Where do you think I have undersold his achievements? I was very complimentary about his CL win - I think I said it was without question an incredible achievement. Similarly his performance in the League this year is outstanding. The way his team is playing now, after 4 years and a shit load of investment, is unquestionably impressive.

Outside of that, I don’t see a lot to get particularly excited about - so I’d be keen to understand what I’m missing. I mean - Mourinho, Ancelotti and Conte all achieved more in less time (and with far less leeway) at their respective English clubs than Klopp has, so I do genuinely struggle to see what’s so earth shattering about him - once you strip away the fawning press commentary.
Agreed. In the season of the “Centurions” Klopp and his team finished twenty six points behind Pep and his team. Then he goes and proves what a hypocrite he is by breaking two transfer records when he’d sanctimoniously stated he’d quit football if such fees became the norm.

Additionally, one of those record breaking transfers was a “sweeper-keeper”. An innovation that Guardiola took a lot of ridicule for and yet he stuck to his principles.

I could say a lot more about that charlatan but I’ll finish with the fact that MCFC have been exposed to an “illegal” version of VAR that has benefitted Klopp. We know it. Even the Scousers know it but they’ll never admit it.

My only issue with pep is lack of foden time however I have no idea what I’m doing when it comes to managing a pro football club / player.

pep & the team deserve much better support than they have got this season. End of.

saying that since the spurs champs league semi & var my passion for the game has died. I am no longer excited for the game & I don’t know why.

the game is no longer for the people it’s all about the corporate £££££££ machine

Said it before and will say it again, Love Pep, his style, charisma, genius and his humility, and he’s our gaffer and no one should ever forget what he brings and has brought to our club. Fuck em all, the doom mongers and critics of him, yeah, everyone’s got an opinion like arseholes we know everyone’s got one.

Don’t push this fella away, embrace him and his style, keep him at the forefront of our support and sing his name with the same enthusiasm and passion we have done since the day he arrived. Let’s absolutely tear into these rags tonight, get to Wembley again, knowing we’ve stuck another nail in the Trafford coffin and the one man that has been instrumental in getting us to this point is OUR PEP. Long may he reign supreme.

Dont like kiperty or the dippers but to compare him to those managers isnt fair imo hes been to two champions league finals in the last two years (winning one) and is probably going to get over 100 points this season and finishing well clear of us in 2nd no matter how much i hate them and how we have performed at times this season we cant deny what klopp has done at liverpool hes atleast almost as good as pep surely?

Why isn’t it fair? They’re all very good managers. Ancelotti has won the CL three times, and Mourinho twice - both of which are significantly better records than Klopp has managed in Europe. They also both won the League in their first seasons in England - which as yet, 4 years into the gig, Klopp has failed to do.

Conte won 2 trophies in 2 years at Chelsea - Klopp’s got 1 so far, in double the timeframe!

You could potentially argue I was being provocative with Di Matteo, as in reality much of the hard work was done by Villas-Boas before he took over, but he still won both the CL (which remains Klopp’s solitary major trophy at Liverpool so far, once you strip away all the noise and the incessant media hype) and the FA Cup in less than a year managing Chelsea. Like I said - Klopp joined Liverpool in October ‘15, and has just 1 lonely trophy to show for all the time and money invested.

I fail to see why you would consider him as anything other than doing very well to be named in such illustrious company.

If your comparing him to those managers at their best i can see your point but as of right now mourinho and anchelotti are no where near pep or klopp.

You're right in the comparison right now at this moment but the earlier posters point that Klopp has only won the one title that has any relevance since he has been at liverpool. Pep will probably be in double figures before Klopp reaches title 3.
If we are going off managers currently right now motivating players it will be Klopp but we don't judge success over short term gains, Ancelotti and Mourinho both have better records historically.

Klopp only wants to win the cups that are fully recognised outside of this country, he's a glory boy who if he was forced to play a decent side in the domestic cups would probably fall flat on his face before the season was out.
