Criticism of Pep

When he doesn't change anytging, it's a case of 'teams have susses us out, he needs to show he has more as a manager'. when he does change it, he's fucking about.

Ultimately, we miss way too many nlooduly chances, whether he changes it up or not. And we concede more than we did before. Fix the first one, whether by working sharpening up on finishing or signing people that can finish, and it reallh won't matter whether we stick or twist.

If anyone thinks our normal 4-3-3 has been worked out getting 198 points over 2 seasons, they are deluded. Liverpool are playing a similar system this season and beating everyone they play. Our problems stem from the continual wholesale swapping of formations and players, and we've gone backwards because of it. People have every right to criticise Pep for it while acknowledging in the 17/18 season, bar a couple of games, his tactics and selections were virtually flawless.

Think it is simple we never seem to play the same 11. Because of injuries or tinkering. I do sometimes feel Pep makes the same subs. When the rags went down to ten why not put Phil on for some pace and direct running. We didnt react to having a one player advantage, when we did Pep took of a forward and put on a defender !

And you don't think he'l rip a few players a new one behind closed doors? heck you seen him on the touchline. Hanging them out in public didn work well for mancini. Taking it all on himself saying it was all his fault did sod all for pellers. This has worked all of last two seasons. He's saying it for the cameras, i personally am ok reading between the lines.

And btw, the performance overall was dominant, give or take some farty finishing

You're right I went over the top last night.

Wasn't Peps fault that some players are allergic to scoring at the moment.

exactly my point!! Played well, they didnt get a kick. We didnt take a chance and they score from first half chance. Happening far to often tho!!
Our finishing is poor and we are becoming like the Wenger Arsenal side, in that we try and walk the ball into the net.

Also the criticism of Pep for his comments about the crowd on Sunday to me were justified but to criticise his tactics last night is bazaar.

Just popped to the Spurs game thread, only three pages so far, but the ridiculing of Pep is now obvious and to me it's both ridiculous and sinister development.
Yes according to the tabloid Telegraph headline Pep 'denounced supporters over missiles and air disaster chants'.

'Denounced' is quite a strong word. For one who seems to be unaware of so many things relating to City/United history would Pep be aware of the significance of the plane gestures and if he saw the missiles he should have also seen the rags fans' own gestures.

I sincerely hope Pep does not get a sniff of some of our supporters starting to turn against him, because without a doubt he would be off very quickly, despite what he says in public.

There is no supporter against him they may disagree with certain aspects of his team Selection but wanting him gone there is none.

Some of the criticism is bizarre, especially after last nights game.

We battered them, missing simple chances and they scored a set piece.

What did he get wrong? We were playing the 2nd leg of a tie in which we won the away leg 3-1, and he is trying to get the squad into peak condition/form for the Madrid game, and the Madrid game is and will be the most important games of the season so far.

Some of the defending of Pep like he is a perfect demi god is also bizarre. He is the best manager we have ever have, by some bloody length - but it doesn't mean he does not get things wrong or can't be criticised such as :

1. Why does he continue to not put Stirling on the right and Mahrez on the left? It gets very predictable, they are always cutting in - why not change it up?
2. He continues to pick Stirling, when he is woefully out of form.
3. Foden's growth is being stunted at the moment, there is absolutely no reason why he cannot be thrown into a game like that and given a starting spot.
4. His general in game subs and changes are quite often late imo, he finds it very hard to break out of the 'system'.

He needs to be more flexible, otherwise we will not win a CL under him bottom line.
