Crumpsall Synagogue Attack - two people confirmed dead, one inadvertently shot by police along with the suspect

Terrorists want to divide us. Communities like this one who work so hard to build bridges are the main target. They try and crush community through fear and hatred.

This bastard won’t win.

Suspect that this was the exact reason this particular area was targeted. What better way to try and stoke up tensions than by doing it in a community area where people of all faiths work and live together in close proximity.

In his mind and the minds of others who are like minded he has won... Martyred and now enjoying his xxx virgins

The police had no option because of the fake vest but it's a shame they slotted him as it fuels the fire

There is toxicity all over social media… I left X when it was Twitter as it wasn’t good for my mental health.. I am close to sacking Facebook too but I’d miss contact with friends.. it’s a dilemma
Just use WhatsApp, mate. You can stay in touch with all your friends and family without being assaulted by algorithms. I'd also recommend Reddit if you want to use more conventional social media, whilst not completely unpolluted it is healthier than the more popular platforms.

Get all the ones you care about on Whatsapp then shut it down. To be honest, I wasn't using Facebook for a good while before I got rid, because it literally never showed me anything I wanted to see any more. It used to be about showing you things you followed, and then increasingly it became a platform that showed you what they wanted you to see. And unsurprisingly, it's all clickbait, things to make you angry, and things that waste your time.

I remember the straw that broke the camel's back for me was when I was thinking about an old friend and wondering what she's up to now because I never see anything from her on Facebook. So I clicked on her profile and realised she literally posts around once a week, and Facebook chooses to never show me any of it, because they'd rather show me a map of the most popular grain consumed in each country, or a video that was on Tiktok about a month ago where a bloke goes around doing street interviews and edits them together to make all women look like gold diggers.

Incredible multicultural community and area I had the pleasure of working in for 8 or 9 years . Crumpsall Prestwich and Manchester in general showing the world how everyone can live side by side . Also an area with a big MCFC following from all faiths .
Truly a sad depressing and upsetting day for most us and more so the Jewish community.
The world we live in has become frighteningly dangerous with extreme politics and division everywhere you look or listen. It is absolutely toxic .
Thoughts and prayers to everyone affected

I have to say to all of the people of Manchester, well done. No matter political opinions on the middle east at the moment, none of you have brought it in to this (rightly so as they are jews, and maybe not zionists). Just like in other hard moments for your city, you’ve all stuck together. Well done and condolences to the Jewish community. Nobody should be killed in a way like this. I hate to see people making jews suffer because of Israel. Simply put, Israel ≠ Jews.

We are Manchester citizens. The kindest, most caring people in the world. We have been attacked before. The IRA bomb, the Arena bomb as well as this. They will not tear us apart. We are compassionate and will rally together once again. :-)

City’s Facebook page has posted their condolences regarding today’s tragic events. And it’s followed below the line by the most outrageous antisemitic comments. Why do they have no one as admin monitoring it? It was same when they posted to celebrate Hanukkah. If they can’t be bothered monitoring it, don’t post it.
They can close comments altogether on their posts and I really do think it's about time every outlet should - all socials are a cesspool now.

Terrorist named as per the BBC:

Greater Manchester Police has named the person it believes is responsible for today's attack as 35-year-old Jihad Al-Shamie.

"He is a British citizen of Syrian descent," the force says. They add that formal identification is yet to take place.

Three people arrested:

Greater Manchester Police say three suspects have been arrested on suspicion of commission, preparation and instigation of acts of terrorism.

They are two men in their 30s and a woman in her 60s.

I knew a girl from Israel once and she went on about how Israel hated Syria and vice versa …..I never understood why though ?

A lad I knew met her on a kibbutz and married her brought her back to Manchester

Apologist. Quite a common name my fucking arse mate. I’ve never come across anyone named Jihad and FYI the Oxford English Dictionary states that Jihad is a holy war undertaken by Muslims against non believers.

Sorry mate but fuck off with that, not apologising or condoning anything, I’m not religious but if I was, I’d hope he rots in hell.

I’ve worked in the Middle East and Jihad is a common name. Google its name meaning, and you’ll understand why I said he didn’t live up to it.

Or to save you the time, here.
