There's also Mendy. I think he was due back after the international break. City mentioned that Stones and KDB had returned to training on Monday, but there was no mention of Mendy so I think that places a question mark against his fitness.

Pep is his own severest critic, but the team are human. His defenders have to be able to attack. His attackers have to be able to defend. His imperious Barca team suffered some unexpected defeats against Li Liga relative minnows. Any team he puts out is expected to be versatile - that’s what he works on.

Not realistic to be expect a midfield unit of Gundogan, Rodri and David Silva to attack and defend. Aguero was apparently carrying an injury and, and Walker had lost weight due to illness so I do think pep made a mistake with his team selection. The team was not well placed to carry that midfield.
