Crystal Palace (H) - Post-Match Thread

We didn’t play too badly today and despite having ten men for half the game we still had the vast majority of the ball. But it’s games like this that make me wonder why I bother. Traffic before the game is becoming as the council have made Princess Parkway one big car park with their stupid road changes. Lack of car parks around the ground is also a pain. Then as usual turnstiles not working properly which meant stupidly slow and long queue. Whichever idiots decided to have digital tickets but the technology used is shit needs sacking. Then we have a shit football team whose only intention was to time waste aided and abetted by Mr Magoo as the ref from the first minute. Can someone explain why he was booked when he was as that must have been the 15 goal kick at least he had done that. Should have been warned the first time he did it then booked the second. Silva was booked for being fouled and Eddie for trying to separate players. Don’t get me started on the pathetic red. That was manipulation at its finest. Give a red and it won’t be overturned. Saha was 35 yards from goal with the ball not under control and Walker and Cancelo just about to put on the burners. That was not denying a clear GSO. What about the push on Fidel, he didn’t even bother pretending that it might have been a penalty and as for the kneecap offside, roll it back two frames and hey presto he is onside. Marriner,Taylor and Mason what could possibly go wrong. They suck the life out of you and to pay for a season card to watch cheating just isn’t worth it. Looks like this may be my last season after nearly 50 years.

Not seen the game, doesn't sound like I missed much. Tbh I had a bad feeling about today, Palace have a decent record against us. Laporte it seems had a shocker, Stones needs to be given a long run in the team. Very disappointing result and a big improvement is required next Saturday
Get
Rodri was quality again today, he is becoming a big player for us.
as a defensive midfielder he was none existent, looked like he was running in treacle, having said that he didn't have much help

Aside from the ref also sticking it to us, we were our own worst enemy.

Laporte started as he meant to go on, which thankfully means Stones will now come back in to the fold.

No use keeping the pitch wide if you don't have anyone in the middle or at top to make it work today.

Palace forced us to play the extra pass out wide and doubled up on being aggressive on Jesus and Phil.

Cancelo and Walker were poor, as was Grealish, who seemingly wants to play safe and has had all spotenitity removed by Pep's demands.

We have a paint my numbers system, so it only needs to go a man down and the whole thing falls apart.

Pissed off with the decisions against us and thought it strange Pep waited five minutes to introduce Stones.

Jesus was our best player and felt we needed to try and get him and Bernie all the ball more in second half to try and at least commit Palace a bit more.

Eddie was ropey for the goal, as it was a scuffed shot.

We move on, Liverpool dropping points today was also a surprise and pressure now on with United to come.
Half arsed, complacent and sloppy from the start. Misplaced passes and unforced errors. And usually when this lot start a game like that, it only ends one way.
The apparent inability of manager or players to turn round a deficit, especially when losing at half time, is something that is rarely discussed but should be.
Defeat next week is unacceptable. Time for the manager and the players alike to earn their money. An attitude like that first half today cannot stand

Not to worry Marriner may be a cheating **** but next Saturday it will be different, i mean we are overdue not only our first penalty of the season but our first penalty at Old Trafford in the Premier League, yeah never had one, Keith Curle got our last one there in the very last Division One season, 1992. Of course we have had plenty of them at home, errr oh yeah we had one in 2007 that we missed. So like I say, it’s our turn……..
don't hold your breath

It’s basically our punishment for pushing the favoured clubs noses out of the trough. We will be cheated every game, more often than not it won’t stop us winning but sometimes it will, it will never change.

sterling must be sold and his place taken by a new striker
i would take £50million right now for sterling and go and sign haaland in jan
even it takes a crazy bid for dortmund to sell i would still pay it. knowing he has a buy out in the summer of £67million or something like that. we just can not leave it for somebody else to steel him from under our noses
offer dortmund £100million plus add-ons right now even ask if they fancy sterling
Sterling is probably too old for Dortmund. On current form, he's definitely not good enough for anyone to shell out £50m for him.

Beaten by a shocking ref yet again and cheated out of a result by VAR.

Not.

Crap all over the park. One to forget.
