Crystal Palace (H) - Post-Match Thread

the thing is world class players should know better and let their feet do the talking and shut him up
but the officials and the ref was all in for palace today and let them do there dirty stuff and timewasting

he could not get that red card fast enough ? there is no way that was a goal scoring opportunity and cancelo would have got back and like pep said you seen today jonny evans get a yellow for the same foul ? even last week dirty harry edge of the box last man got nothing

but again we know what goes on with the officials and we should know better by now
just not good enough today its simple and the whole team and manager have to take it on the chin and move on
The Rags should have been down to 8 men last week but nooooo. The only reason Pogba got sent off was that the undue leniancy Utd players had enjoyed up to that point had became a bit too obvious. Twats.

Missing a striker obviously, as others have said. Someone to offer a penalty box presence/aerial threat and poaching ability.

Also could do with drive in centre midfield. A Yaya type of player, somebody to take the game by the scruff of the neck and even bully the opposition's midfielders. We haven't really had that since he stopped playing regularly.

We have players that offer different type of "drive" from midfield, Kevin's runs on the counter, Phil's direct running and Gundo's frank Lampard like ability of drifting into the box during a slow build-up and scoring. But we still don't have anyone with the physicality or that has all of what Yaya had.

And both are the types of player that Pep is unlikely to buy or pick to start regularly.

Seething at the stupidity of that defeat. Yet again the only team that can beat us is ourselves.

What it did demonstrate today is that blaming Pep if we lose when he doesn't pick our best side is too simplistic a criticism. That was a very strong team, even with a KDB that is making strenuous efforts to avoid becoming the world's best player.

Ironically Laporte had comfortably the best pass completion stats in the match but two horrid errors cost us the game.

I've said it several times and it has cost us but the offside rule under VAR is a joke. Only saw the VAR view of Foden fleetingly at the match but to be given offside in that position is ridiculous. Even more ridiculous was Mariner waiting so long to book their keeper. Also, wondered if Foden had a good claim for a pen?

Last few games it feels like the weight of expectation on Foden is dragging him down.

Due to KDB and Sterling's demise , on-form he's our most creative player.

Hopefully the others step-up, if not how did we get to this situation where we rely so heavily on a 21 year old?

Drop Kev start Gundogan. Foden can drop deep from the false nine or wing and Ilkay can push up to get into positions to score.

Should give more options for the midfield to move the ball quicker, and more adaptable against teams squeezing the space in the midfield.

Mistakes happen, but our main problem today was that we lost composure after their goal, got nervous and our passing suffered.

Palace pressed really well but they'd have tired in the 2nd half had we avoided the red card. The latter made it really hard for us.

And we still could have taken something from the game if Jesus's goal wasn't marginally offside. Really bad day at the office. Nothing is lost though. This may be a strange season. Think Chelsea will go through a rough patch at some point. Also we'll play them and Liverpool at the Etihad.
