Crystal Palace (H) - Post-Match Thread

MOTD was not a good watch. Everybody poor today. At times our formation is awful & wide open. I thought Rodri was shocking
It's interesting how people view performances differently. 50/50 from most on Rodri's performance today it seems.

I thought he was good, personally, but watching his effort on their second goal was pretty pathetic. Granted he was probably on fumes at that point.

One of the most ridiculous posts I’ve read today! I’ll put it down to disappointment at the result (which I share) but if you still feel the same tomorrow I suggest you seek help!
Im curious to know what signs you've seen from De bruyne that he will get back to his best form? To call him a passenger at best this season would be being kind. He's been absolutely awful, no reason to gloss over it so I don't understand why its such a ridiculous thing to ask if he's perhaps on the decline? He's 30 now and has never been naturally athletic or fit. World class players should be dragging their team through tough moments, games and periods, like today. He was nowhere to be seen today, no doubt he will be embarrassed himself being brought off for a centre back chasing the game. Need another run like last season or its FA cup at the most this year.

That's our problem, in front of everyone today, when we're good we're brilliant, when we're shite god we are shite, then you look hard, ederson is a shit keeper, never makes a save, but when it's piss easy he takes the piss,Laporte? Loves a long pass and Hollywood easy tackle, best thing about his red today was thank fuck stones gets back in,we're a better team with him, carries the ball and wants to play, the rest struggle because we're so fuckin predictable, arse about, pass, arse about some more, pointless pass, fuck up the last pass, we see it every game. Buy a fuckin striker, even we can't get away with it forever!
Days like this (extremely rare days) and a few think they could select a better team and organise a better formation on the day than the football god that is Pep. I trust the vast knowledge of Pep over that of any fellow Blue. Opinions always good amusement the rest of us though.

We should have signed a capable striker for 70m and not Grealish or at least taken care of that business first, we don't always have to buy the shiniest toys in the window in Kane whom it appears in not spunking 150m we dodged a bullet as he's not exactly lighting it up.

Every game I look at 3-5 capable passers of the ball and absolutely zero to aim at in the box.

We also look bored, gritless and impotent. Other teams with a fifth our payroll are outplaying us.
But who was the 'capable ' £70m striker? I'd still of gone balls deep for kane, simply the best out there and wanted to play for us. I agree we look impotent, we just look boring occasionally because when we do our thing we're great, below that level we are shite, slow, predictable, lazy, soft as shit,I could go on!

Pretty shocking day at the office. Won’t dwell on it for too long but it’s been coming.

Kev clearly isn’t fit/right and I’d take him out of the side until he feels better. He looks absolutely knackered. We know the player he can be.

Laporte was naive, we can debate red or yellow all day but he was all over him and that gives the ref a decision to make. Can’t argue with the red card. Not good enough by him for thier first either. Stones will hopefully take that spot back next to Reuben and make us solid again.

Controversial one that’ll probably get me some stick but it’s my opinion. Ederson… Thankfully we don’t concede too many chances because Ederson isn’t it for me as a shot stopper He’s calm with the ball at his feet and can kick it really far and is decent coming out of his box to clear more often than not but how many teams score against us with their first chance? I’m not slagging him off but I’d have expected a top keeper to get near their first. The save he made in the 2nd half was a decent one, but a save I’d expect most if not all top keepers to make.

Grealish is going to take time to settle in but it’ll come. I’d like to see him get a bit of game time coming from deeper and central. He’s not pacey enough to be a winger in my opinion.

We’re desperate for a target man or a near post run from a forward. Surely we can have Delap or any other academy lad that’s a natural striker, who’ll do the things that come naturally as a striker as an option from the bench, because if plan A doesn’t work we really don’t have an alternative. Thankfully, plan A has worked pretty well for us in recent times.

Our play looks laboured and slow at times and it’s because we have no focal point. We’re relying on perfection or a mistake for every goal because we’re not creating the chances we’d have if there was someone leading the line.

All that said, well done palace, they played the game and took their chances. Can’t argue with the result.

Special mention to the ref. Gave their keeper plenty of waves to hurry up but didn’t book him until it didn’t matter. Piss poor officiating from the very first goal kick they had. Wanker.

it's sad but true..

Watching that diving rat neymar yesterday, he took over the game in the second half and dragged PSG to get 3 points.. KDB is literally hurting our chances of winning right now on the other hand.
