Deliberately stayed away from the match day thread, can't be assed reading that shit while trying to watch the game anymore, it's not worth it.

Thought bar the first 20 minutes when they scored off two set pieces we bossed the game. They set up the way they always do against us, got a two goal lead and it was on us to respond. And respond we did.

Erling will get all the deserved plaudits for his hat trick and they are well deserved but I thought Bernardo turned the game. Can we shut the transfer thread regarding him as it's obvious he's going nowhere. He was motm for me. Amazing player we all knew it, but the way he performs with all that swirling around is a sight to behold.

Haaland isn't human. His instincts can't be taught, he knows where to be, how to get there and he's always there. The third goal of his is something unbelievable to see. His pace, timing of a run & strength is something I've never seen since R9 pre knee injuries and fit in the 98 WC.

Alvarez showed plenty in his cameo, am dying to see him & Haaland start together, think they'll destroy teams. Alvarez is special can see it everytime he's on the pitch.

Massive three points against a bogey side of ours. Happy to have 10/12 and we aren't anywhere near it yet.

One of the most interesting things to start the season for me - Haaland is miles better with Gundogan on the pitch. Wonder how we'll work that out tactically, if Bernardo heads back to the right...

I had major trouble with ‘river technology’ first half so didn’t see much at all.

Rectified for second half and loved that the entire team stepped up.

Bernardo sublime, And everything was that bit sharper. Liked that Pep made his adjustments early. Though Gundog and Alvarez (an absolute buzz bomb) were terrific, Gundo clearly in sync with the type of passes that Erling likes / will thrive on.

But fuck me, what about the big man? The strength to hold off the palace defender like he was a 5 year old, nice touch and dispatched clinically. He fucking loves scoring goals.

As a side note, I’d like to believe that the dippers were getting giddy over their half time pints at Klanfield. 9-0 or not they will be fucking spewing.

city can now flick a switch and bang we score goals with Haaland, we must scare the life out of defenders,
last season we don't win this game today, sterling and Jesus would go hiding, pretty much like mahrez today
and he did not fancy the fight, when pep moved Silva over there the 3 points was always going to happen,

what else can I say other than it was a game of 2 halves, the first half was the worst of the season by far
but the 2nd half, pretty much the best 2nd half of the season and that is football

first half was really bad, cant allow two set pieces goals. Fortunately they did feck all besides that but our strategy was bad as was the passing and movement. Pre season form really

Much better in the second, overloaded the wide areas and stretched the pitch for Haaland to put three balls in. Bernardo was fantastic in the second half, different gravy. Im sure pep will teach Haaland to be more involved in the build up when the ball is away from the area and there is no space for him to play but he always smells the goals and score for fun when the chances are there, zero worries about that. Hes a scoring machine, thats what he does and what he came here to do
