We continually gave the ball to Mendy. It was a bit predictable. Cancelo was lazy. rarely got forward. I'd get rid of Cancelo. Attitude is not right. He should be seizing his chance instead he's coasting. I'll have to watch the goals again. I'm in hhe front row and don't get a good view of the corners. I thought our problem was what we have seen all season...a lack of height at the back as I saw Palace win two headers in their opener.
We don't lack height, we do lack aggression.
When you watch it back tonight, you will see Stones both times lose headers which proceeds their goals, all because he was not strong enough.
Getting the ball to Mendy might have appeared predictable, but Palace could do nothing about it, so Pep was spot on in regards that set up.
We overloaded one side of the pitch and Mendy delivered time and again, also passing intelligently into midfield.
I have hammered him previously but I'm honest enough to admit it when he has played brilliantly.
Agree totally on Cancelo, he's changed clubs Al lot for somebody so young, which was a warning sign. He stayed back more today to probably cover the counter of Zaha, but he is a shirker.
I've suggested countless times and the stats seem to back it up more and more, when we do lose points, Gundo and Dave are in the middle together.
Sterling needs more than one game to rest. For nigh on three months he's been crap, and no amount of revisionism from his previous England pack hypocrites will convince me otherwise.
Pep dropped a bollock today by trying to give Mahrez a rest and going with Raheem.
