Crystal Palace Thread 2013/14

Was dire today. The players worked hard like usual and the atmosphere was great, but we looked toothless. Never looked like scoring at all unless Bolassie got us a pen. With a bit of luck they may have gone down to 10 when Bolassie burst through, but Webb is never going to make those decisions. Southampton bamboozled us with their football in the first half, but actually did not create much and only scored from our mistakes. Lallana and Shaw looked good, but they probably both need to make a step up. We were like Stoke, except we were not a threat from set pieces. It's a bit worrying.

Apart from a draw against Everton at home, I don't think we have taken a point from one of the top 9 sides. Our style just does not work agains tthem and we need to change it. Lots of pressure now to get a result against Sunderland.

No not that I know off. After an explosive start he has not been great, but then we don't attack much. Young players are going to struggle making the step up from the championship. I am not sure Ledley was the right choice to come in for him though.
 
What a week, skillful creative Palace plays scoring wonder goals and one of them is an academy product. The only problem is that they were not scoring for Palace.

We are in a fight for our lives and unless you are Martinez it's not really a place to be playing free flowing attacking football, but it's a shame that we cannot use such players as Camapana and especially Williams. Unless we go down sadly Williams might have to leave to fulfill his potential and it will be a much bigger blow than when Zaha, Clyne or Moses left.

Big game tomorrow, but we have 1 point against the top 9. Don't expect us to do you any favours. We probably won't get battered, but will lose 2-0. Pulis is doing a great job with the squad he has, but I can see why even when given money he could not take a team like Stoke that extra step forward.
 
Would obviously LOVE to see Palace take points off Chelsea! Palace has a fighting chance coz I put a bet on Chelsea to win by a goal!! When Chelsea spanks them i wonder if that annoying twat Pulis will moan about the value of the Chelsea squad!!!
 
Palace will nick a point tomorrow and if they don't, supercrystal7 should be banned.

LOL. Might as well ban me now. 1 point against the top 9 and even that was Keith Millen. We are good against those around us. The Premierships is kind of split in 2 (though it's breaking up now) against the bottom 11 I think only West Ham have gained more points than us. Against a top team they are not likely to make a mistake for us to score and they will eventually score either from a mistake or something brilliant.
 
Got a soft spot for Palace as I've got family in Penge, and as a kid visiting we usually caught the odd game. Hope they do us a favour tomorrow!
