There was an accident on the M62 about 12-30. According to some reports there were no serious injuries yet it took the five and a half hours to reopen it. Why? That is an extremely busy bit of motorway and it's a disgrace to leave it closed for so long unless they were investigating a death or it needed resurfacing.
The City Council has spent the last 40 years fucking the city centre. Roads closed here, there and every fucking where for new buildings or pedestrianisation. And where does the traffic go? On a badly designed ring road with more choke points than the Boston fucking Strangler.
All over the city buildings are being built in a way that encroaches on the roads, while other roads are closed for the second city crossing and some fuck-witted bus priority scheme. Princess Street will be two way for a short length so Oxford Road can be buses and bikes only.
So where the fuck can the traffic go when the motorways are broken? No-fucking-where.
And Salford Council are even bigger twats. A new wide cycle lane on Great Clowes Street ffs. It just fucks the traffic.
The Crescent going past Salford University used to be three lanes each way but it's now one lane and a bus lane. It's hardly a surprise the whole thing grinds to a halt when just a single alternative route is closed.
Even the third-world conurbation at the western end of the East Lancs Road has had the sense to scrap most of the bus lanes as they do nothing to help traffic flow. But the anti-motoring Luddite twats in charge of transport in Manchester and Salford are only interested in their narrow agendas and couldn't give a fuck about the inconvenience they cause. Have I mentioned they are all twats? Twats the fucking lot of them.
And while we're on the subject of twats, what about Twatrolink? They keep telling us the signs used to indicate tram only sections meet all the regulations. Well in that case why the fuck do a succession of fuck-muppets keep driving onto the tracks? Are these drivers ever punished for ignoring the signs or are the signs just not clear enough? And as a mate asked last night, having walked from town; why weren't they announcing the problem so people wouldn't assume an Ashton or Etihad tram would soon arrive?
