Diagonal for parties and other special occasions.
Horizontal for everyday bread based snacks.
How boring must your parties be if the bread is cut the same way as every other day?
This is the reason why we struggled against Stoke. All the bloody sandwiches are cut the same way. We need some diagonals, some horizontal, some vertical and some rolled up!
I'm normally an advocate of the long diagonal ball over the top but it didn't work against Stoke as we were facing two horizontal banks of tightly-packed defenders all game. Also, our players can be likened to Warburton's Milk Roll in that their football is delicious but their the small stature of our attacking players means we constantly lost possession in the air. I think maybe some of our small players may have suffered from a yeast deficiency during their youth.
