My lad completed the Fred Whitton challenge Sunday last. It’s a brisk Sunday cycle round the Lake District - 113 miles with an elevation of +11,000 feet. Some of the climbs are at gradients of 30%. He did it in eight hours which was good for his category (30- 40). I was fishing the same day and it was too hot for that activity so heaven knows how the riders managed. I’m v proud of him.
