Daily Express: Villa make bid for Richard Dunne

Quote from Ian Cheesman on the BBC website:

"There was a tendency for City to be a bit gung-ho when they were going forward to support that single striker, which left the back four very exposed.

"Suddenly Richard Dunne was being made to look a bit of a plonker and everybody was saying he isn't the player he was. I thought that was a bit harsh on him, and City's problems were more to do with there being a huge gap between City's attacking midfield and their defence."

I must say I do have a lot of sympathies with that viewpoint and those who readily point the finger at Dunne should realise that a teams defends as a unit.

However, I think Saturday's goal for celtic shows that there has been very little change.

Tell O'Neil OK if we get Lescott so you'd better start pestering Moyes for us Martin, here's his number and don't tell him we told you to ring him, don't come back till he's given in.

5m ?

Considering Upson (reportedly valued between 10-15m) is the same age and a similar standard of player, shouldn't we be asking for more ?

I'll say it again on this thread as well - who will play up front tomorrow if Dunnie goes?
see above for excellent answer

If we've got Lescott, Dunne should make way for Kompany, Onuoha, Micah, and other youngsters. Otherwise, we will loss all these young promising players to our rivals because of too much competitions in the team, and we'll end up with good old Dunnie hanging around at the club waiting for his last pay day like Mills.
