It's an odd business mate, and no mistake.
Daryl Jacob is a more than competent jockey, but like you I think there is more to this than meets the eye, and maybe there is some personal issue between him and Nicholls which is nothing to do with riding.
There's a lot of speculation flying about, but nobody really knows.
I'm sure it will all come out in the wash in good time.

Well what I was aware of was Jacob didnt want the Big Bucks ride. Claiming no matter what happens he is a on a hiding to nothing. If Big Bucks win he will get no credit. If Big Bucks loses he is going to be taking a big hit in reputation for losing on Big Bucks. Then again older horse off the track for over a year nearly who is to say he doesnt fancy another Nichols horse to go and beat Big Bucks. I think the Mullins Annie Power might end up running in the World hurdle if it gets the trip. Only 8 weeks to go too to the biggie.

I think you or I could get atop of Big Bucks and win.
The festival can't come around soon enough, as it promises some cracking racing.
You doing a Cheltenham Tipser this year mate?

Of Course there will be a Cheltenham Tipser mate wouldnt be Cheltenham without 1. Really looking forward to this might win some money for my trip to Budapest or might end up loosing my Budapest holiday money lol.

Well we will see what he can do as a sire. Some cracking horses fail at siring George Washington comes to mind a cracking 3 year old he was. To be honest if Frankel is getting that then makes you think how much Galileo is getting his dad. Champion European Sire for the 5th time in 2013 with winnings of over £4.7 million with 162 winners in Ireland and the UK. He would be worth more and more. If Frankel doesnt get a Group 1 son or Daughter out of his first crop then that value will drop and drop the longer he goes without a Group 1 Son or Daughter.

Sad to see St Nicholas Abbey died yesterday in Coolmore as well. Might not have been 1 of the greats but that horse won some amount of money during its time. I think he got better in his later years.

Good to Soft ???

A bit of a shock news regarding Johnny Murtagh he is retiring from being a jockey and going full time into training. Last season was the best we seen of Johnny he was the go to guy for the big races on the Saturday in the UK and Ireland. I am surprised and shocked but Johnny is a jockey who is retiring at his peak how many other jockeys could say that. Top class jockey will be missed.

suffering at the mo with whatever this virus is that's making the rounds down here.
thought i would pass the time with an additional Saturday bet............

Carruthers @ 9/4
Hurricane Hollow @ 11/8
Desoto County @ 4/6
Kruzhlinin @ 15/8
Measureofmydreams @ 6/5
Clever Cookie @ 11/8

Not brilliant prices but if the unthinkable happens not a bad return.

Went to my first ever Chelty Preview the other night. Barry Geraghty, Patrick Mullins and Tony Martin were on the panel. My cards are marked and just waiting for the final declarations and the bets are going on and hopefully it's early retirement pour moi !! :-)
