Do Liverpool ever stop living in the past? Why get Rafa back when there are better options?

Any new manager will have the weight of history and the ghost of King Kenny on top of him, no real money to spend, no chance of attracting the very best, a guarantee that they're not getting top 4 next season... unless they get Jose (which isn't as ludicrous as some might think) and a support that is ready for yet another round of protests.
I hope they get Martinez. That will ensure mid-table mediocrity.
If possible they should try for O'Neill or Hughes to give them at least a modicum of credibility, otherwsie they'll "do a Wolves" and end up rudderless and heading down.
