Dalglish gone (MERGED)

Clarke has gone in a show of support. With no European football, it's hard to see who they could attract, but I think they may get someone in from left field.

Carragher would be superb, no one would understand a word in the Friday pre match conference

It's hypocritical in the extreme from Liverpool fans, they essentially hounded Hodgson out the door after a few months yet Dalglish, who has had 18 months and has delivered a shocking league campaign after spending a fortune on players in that time, is being harshly treated by the management! Keep the last 18 months exactly the same, but replace Dalglish with anyone else, and they'd have been protesting in their thousands for the managers head.

The simple facts were that Dalglish failed in almost every capacity, he had a good couple of cup runs but in the league he was woeful. He spent extortionate sums on players who aren't good enough. He attempted to play football the way they did in the late 80's without seemingly realising that it was 2011/12 and everyone else had progressed. His dealings with the media were fractious at best, and stunningly arrogant/aggressive at their worst. And his handling of the entire Suarez affair was bordering on the criminally negligent when it came to the damage he was causing to football in general and Liverpool specifically. Dalglish was who the fans wanted, that's who they were given, and they got what they deserved, a dinosaur, an analog manager in the digital age. Their Boston owners did what they had to do, rid the club of the dead weight that Dalglish was. The fans will hate them for it though, and whoever takes over will be given the "Hodgson treatment", he'll be Dalglish's unwanted replacement and they'll hate him for it too.
