arr...thats it bigga mate...i still have this knack of filtering out the tripe within modern hip hop

can spot a outstanding tune instantly...sometimes i dont like the artists stuff particularly, but one tune maybe stands out as a classic

and sometimes i might like the artists, like mystikal...the guy is a fuckin star mate

and lets not forget one of my all time fav rappers busta, the guy is so off the wall

I know of Mystikal(I thought he was doing serious jail time now?), but I truly haven't given any of his stuff a listen. Bit like when too many people were jumping on Jigga's tip. I back off, when that happens. Took me AGES, last year, before I gave Jay Z a listen, even!

Might be a stupid question, but; How do you know you wont like him if you've never listened to him? Or is it the notion that he is 'commercial' that turns you off?

yeah...dont know what it is....i have always strayed away from more commercial groups, stems back from my early electro and bambaataa days, dont know why and i'm probably doing myself out of some really good tunes...but thats the way i am :P

in some instances i have gotten into a rapper early in their career and when they became commercial i fell out of love......strange

can hear the eminem influence in the tune straight away, the chorus sounds like em's 8-mile tune...its not bad tbh, but i wouldnt go out an buy it
