Dani Alves

I disagree. He has been caught out plenty of times over the years, one of the reasons top clubs keep moving him on and replacing instead of keeping him around.

Feel like this'll go round in circles tbh so we'll just wait and see what happens next season. I hope he can adapt (and it is more hope than expectation).

Yeah, that's true, if you think "Top clubs are moving him on" then we're definitely going to have to agree to disagree.

Him leaving Barcelona at the end of his contract was a complete disaster for them. Politically, for the board it has been a massive black cloud over them since, and on the pitch it's weakened them drastically, and it's something they tried desperately to stop.

If you think he was moved on, you probably think Alex Ferguson "moved on" Ronaldo in 09.

Just to prove we were conceding chances v real Madrid.

Maicon did fuck all, same as the rest, & Alves was no worse than any of them in that vid, this season, v Real Madrid is my point.

He might actually have been better, than the passive defending we see from everyone bar Kompany (defending, not that well, on his own) that we see in that vid, which was City at their peak fitness.

Real Madrid is no game to judge Alves.

I was at that game and we were very comfortable until Zabaletta came on. It completely changed the game. Watch the whole thing back as opposed to 5 minute highlights.

Tell me you are joking, we are talking about the same dani alves who played at barca from 2008 to 2016.....

For them, yes.

For City, we will have to see. But that is the same with Walker, Mendy & anyone else.

We don't know, until they play.

Delighted with this. Really strengthens our position when negotiating for an additional right back, knows Peps system inside out, looks to still have the legs and one of the best, if not the best right back of his generation in my opinion.

I would stay away from Walker as I just don't rate him at anywhere over £15M and would much prefer we went for a 22 year old who wants to learn off one of the best and potentially fill in for 2 years, that lad from Monaco looks ok and the left back from Juventus and I'm happy :)

And then ran down his contract because he felt the board disrespected him, despite their desperate attempts to make him stay. He's never been "moved on and replaced" in his entire life.

Yeah, that's true, if you think "Top clubs are moving him on" then we're definitely not going to agree, because it's nonsense. Barca you can make a case for it being an error to get rid.

Why are Juve moving him on?

As will Silva and Jesus
Don't know why we're obsessing with who will or won't be on the pitch. They will ALL be on the pitch, in rotation. Would you not say the same about Bernardo, Kevin, Sanchez, Aguero, Sané? They can't all be in the starting line up every game, so it's really baffling when people declare with certainty that player x will definitely be playing. Everyone, even your favourite player(s), will be on the bench at some point.
