Rodgers has stated on numerous occasions that he hasn't got a lot spend and in order to improve his squad he will have to sell before he can buy.

If that is the case and he is trying to hold us to ransom over the transfer fee for Agger so he can get a premium price for the player and I was Mancini I would tell Rodgers 18 Mill at the most take it or leave it.

If he doesn't accept the offer then as he said he won't have the finances available to strengthen their team but on no account should we be held to ransom by them robbing bin dippers.

(i know they all do i'm just making a point) fair play if you do get him because he's one of the best when fit and like i said, a top lad.

Never knew he said that but footballers are a fickle bunch and he might change his mind if he thinks joining us would also help Liverpool strengthen other areas while allowing him to win things himself.

Why ban him even if he is wrong. Most posters on here would remember for the future how good or bad is his info. If you don't take any info at face value but do your own research whether through pms, or in the news sites it isn't too difficult to spot posters who are wumming. Banning people only leads to posters not wanting to post stuff they know because of the consequences. Treat the forum for what it is gossip, rumour and speculation. I am probably in a minority of one but I like all of it makes the place enjoyable.

Quite impressed with what Rodgers is trying to do in getting rid of the higher earners and ageing players like Bellamy as well as those who don't fit into his philosophy like Carroll.

Allen and Dempsey are tidy players who would fit in well. Not Top 4 challenging but definitely a step forward from last year (could it go any other way really???)

I couldn't agree more. There will be wind-ups - some funny some not so funny but contracts being what they are they aren't ever certain until signed both ends (ergo; never certain until announced on the OS). So, even if news of a future signing is truly IKT it's always advanced knowledge of best intentions at the point at which the IKT gets the inside information and there will always be failures to deliver
There's an notable tendency on this site for anyone posting anything to suggest a signing thereafter being ripped to shreds by over-excited zealots or banned by the trigger happy mods who crave the plaudits of the baying crowd.
No wonder that both long established and newly joined members avoid passing on the kind of snippets that should be meat and drink in the transfer window . . or go all mysterious and post song and film clips so that they have an avenue of escape (though even that doesn't seem enough to keep the mad dogs and also that stupid fuzzy cat picture away (I'm sure TH would bear witness to that).
It's a shit situation and anyone with any sense can see that at a glance - it certainly provides good entertainment for the supporters of other clubs to see this forums regular ridiculous melt downs and that's embarrassing.
This forum has many good parts but the bitter grief in the transfer threads is like a pair of lead boots on a drowning man. . . not a good thing to have IMO.

Liverpool would be willing to sell Daniel Agger to Manchester City if they receive a “ridiculous offer” for the defender.

Liverpool have rejected two bids from City for the Denmark international, the second valuing Agger at about £20 million. But they are prepared to do business if their asking price is met, with Rodgers hoping to use the proceeds from any sale to reinvest in his squad.

Liverpool have made it clear to Brian Marwood, City’s chief football administration officer, that they are seeking a fee of about £27 million for Agger. That valuation may appear unrealistic given the 27-year-old’s patchy fitness record, but Liverpool regard Agger as one of Europe’s best defenders and want a fee that reflects that status.

Rodgers claimed that Paris Saint- Germain’s recent signing of Thiago Silva has established the market rate for central defenders. “Silva has left AC Milan for PSG for £40 million,” he said. “He [Agger] is one of the leading players in European football, so it is going to be a big valuation. Every player has a price and top centre halves are at a premium.”

Asked if Liverpool had received offers from City, Rodgers said: “Yes, but nowhere near the valuation of what the player is worth. You can only consider something like that if it is going to benefit you.
“Of course, you might lose a top player but if it benefits you going forward, and you can make two or three steps because of it, you may have to consider it. But we don’t want to sell him, so unless someone comes in with a ridiculous offer that makes you look at it and think you can benefit in one or two other areas, there is no way I want to lose one of my best players.
