Daniel Agger (continued)

44% has agger been offered a new contract, it strikes me as very odd that he would do the whole i want to stay at lpool bit but isnt considering reducing wages etc in order to do just that.

He isn't offered a new contract , which indicates that the owners are waiting for a good offer from man city , skrtel was offered a new contract this week

always makes me chuckle this.

When a player says he doesn't want to leave he is a hero

When he wants to see his contract out he is a ****

I want to stay is all about one thing, loyalty bonus. Simple as that.

So that being said and the fact that lpool hasnt offered him a new contract dont you think this could be a carefully stage managed ploy by lpool and agger. Agger says i dont want to go lpool get a higher price and agger gets his loyalty bonus which is covered by the higher price paid.

If agger says he wants to leave the price drops, he loses his loyalty payment and all parties lose out?

If he wants to stay he wants to stay. I'm sure we have another target. Don't think its fucking Gerard Pique like!

Not convinced we will have another target. City's dealings in the past few windows have tended to be 'all eggs in one basket' e.g. Sanchez, Hazard.

No when SWP went we accepted that it was a chance for him and a good deal for us and that was the stance of most of the fans. If Agger stays good luck to him and I can see his point but from a purely footballing stance its absolute career suicide.
Good old Sweep didn't even want to leave

In fact its been said by many that in fact he broke down and cried, but realised it was to save the Club financially.

-- Tue Aug 14, 2012 11:12 am --

If he decides to stay at Liverpool then I think the guy deserves a fooking clap (or a dose of it) for staying with a club he loves.
Remember Vinny saying offers were forthcoming from other European Clubs, but he did not want to leave because of his love for City.
Very few and far between are footballers who don`t move clubs for cash or glory, albeit probably missing out on playing CL and more silverware.
Fair play to the lad and I guess we`ll find out soon enough when 31st August passes.

from a professional view, kompany has no need to move anywhere, captain of city won the league + shield + cup + earning a very good salary + playing with better players than in most teams in the world + he is married to a mancunian + he was here since the start so :)

in case of Agger if really want liverpool ( despite average players, poor results lack of ambition from the owners) he can its a nice thing he can even lower his wage to stay there , but from a club view the time they saw that they have an opportunity to cash in or he became averrage or injured they will throw him... it works like that

I`ve said on this forum before,it was the best thing Vinny did marrying a local girl,as her head wouldn`t be swayed by shopping trips in Milan,Barca or Madrid.
Trafford Centre is more than good enough . ;)

Ageuro, Nasri, Clichy....

I meant in terms of the type of player.

Aguero was an opportunity that presented itself (and thank f**k for that). It was not a direct alternative to Sanchez.

Nasri - Perhaps another option but still not an out and out pacey winger like Sanchez.

Clichy - Not relevant to what I was trying to say (defender0.

Then this season - Hazard was the no1 target but up to present no real alternative target of similar quality (although 2 weeks left) even though we pulled out in June.

This is what I was trying to say.

I'd be pretty sure if Agger fell through we'd be after another central defender. Savic, Kolo, Rekik, Rodwell doesn't really inspire confidence if one of VK or Lescott gets injured, and if we are moving to 3 at the back another central defender is a must.
