Sturridge has been generally terrific this season when hes come on as a sub. But a poor 20 minutes mean "supporters" should turn their backs on him right?

Ok lets deal in hard base facts here, not some rumours you have heard in the news of the world or by your mate who knows the cleaner at Carrington who swears that Sturridge is "demanding" 60k, 75k, 95k, 660k a week. Lets have a look at the facts that can be backed up as stone cold TRUTH and the most important thing, what he does on the pitch.

Here we have a talented young striker who has been in and out of the side all season, he has been fucked over by injuries and been fucked over by Mark Hughes because he continues to play one man upfront which is hard enough but he has also played Ched Evans and Big Phil ahead of him.

Here we have a 19 year old kid who has only started 8 games, his total minutes are 90, 90, 90, 90, 90, 77, 70, 62, 60, 48, 33, 32, 26, 21, 19, 14, 14, 14, 9, 7, 6, 6, 6, 5, 2. In total he has played 981 mins. That's just under 11 full games.

In them games he has played he has scored 4 goals and assisted 5 goals, being involved in 9 goals. So that's being involved in more or less a goal every game he played in total minutes.

Not bad for a fucking 19 year old who has had injury problems and been fucked about, not to mention playing upfront on his own when probably only a dozen players in the world of football are half decent at it.

Yes he's cocky and arrogant but he has a right to be, he is a good player and he beleives in himself. I love my players to be cocky and arrogant, it's a certain side i love about players but only if they can back it up and Danny can do that when given a chance.

So if you want to ruin yet another promising kid because of some stories going round that no one has a fucking clue about then do so if it makes you feel better.

The treatment of him today by the fans was nothing short of disgraceful, yes he had a poor game but he was a nervous wreck because of 40,000 clueless twats getting on his back at the very first sign of a mistake, a mistake that every player makes in the world.

I'm glad he didn't celebrate the goal because neither would i with what went on.

You all tried to do it with Stephen Ireland, you ruined that kids confidence and self belief and you have all been made to look like silly twats over him. Get off Sturridge's back, you don't realise what a good young player we have on our hands, you only have to look at the stats and the circumstances this season to prove it.
