Doing his part well as a squad player. I want to see him play in DM to give Ferny a rest. Nowhere near the same player but at least energy levels are high enough to do it. Delph is the other option but could do with a rest too. Yaya just doesnt have the legs for it.

He should have crossed the ball to Sane rather than shoot when in on goal, but the keeper messed up, creating a chance anyway. Still, he can get into those positions because of his pace. Delph is always instructed to stay behind his winger because he just cannot get back in time otherwise. That is why Danilo for me, or maybr Zinchenko should be tried as a DM on Tuesday to rest Fernandinho.

From what I saw of him against Burnley, he might just be a better long ball passer than Dihno.

And on the bold, don't think Sane got open until after the shot.

In our last games we messed up quite a lot of brilliant counter attacks by bad decision making or missing pace.

Danilos opening pass to the left introducing Leroy's goal was classy. Enjoyed it.
Also his smart reaction towards Dyche after his foul and being booked has shown he is a cool lad :)

Best performance by Danilo for City, Pep said post match.

Thought he was poor again tbh. And what was that pathetic shoot with his left? Jeez. Dont know what happened in his brain in his time at Madrid, but now when he commits any error he will lose all his confidence the rest of the game.

It's called a miss-kick. Aguero, De Bruyne and Silva all do it regularly. Stones did it yesterday and it could've cost us the game.

thought he did well, works hard, has a decent passing range and that cross-field to Sane in the first half was the highlight of the half for us.

I like him.

Tbh, it was an uncharacteristically poor ball from Dave that was the problem. Danilo was lining up a shot and Dave completely overhit his simple layoff so Danilo had to hit it with his left as the ball was coming across him and proceeded to make a complete balls up of a very difficult technique. He probably should have just changed his mind and not gone for the shot after Dave played the poor lay off, but he'd already imagined the ball rocketing into the top corner so was never going to!

His best game yesterday...

Defending and attacking he was very very solid....an his part in Sane's goal was crucial...

Tidy player who can fill in at multiple positions. Thought he had a very positive game yesterday.

Besides the miskick, what else did you think was poor about his play?

I thought the miskick was memorable, but factored very little in my final analysis. It had no more relevance than say Dihno's missed shot or Zinchenko's. Both of which went way high over the bar.

Overall, his crossfield passes, his quick closing down, his crosses, overlaps and his passing we're all superb.

He was by a significant margin the best defender on the field. So I'm struggling to see what part of his play made you conclude he was poor.

*Boink*, LOL - happens way too often for Danilo to be a regular starter. Still, he has an engine and is decent enough, often enough to give regular starters a rest or to fill in for someone injured. He's an asset (just) to our side.

A full back needs to dribble the defense, go to the line and cross the ball. Hes playing like when you use a CB as full back.

Defending well, hav make a chance on goal, and make key pass for third goal.. but theres still saying he is poor.. smh..

A really good player who is improving the more he plays. This is a pattern with all of Pep's signings and further evidence that all new players need time and support.
