A bit of bad luck. He tried to block Icardi's shot and the force of the ball turned his foot mid-air. So when he planted his foot on the ground it was in an awkward position and twisted even more.
All they can do when that happens is ice to keep the swelling down, then assess the morning after to see if it swells, how much, and what range of motion he has. There is a good chance he will be just fine. Week off to give it a chance to go down and Bob’s your uncle.Ice on the bench suggests bruising as opposed to ligament damage which seems a bit strange given how it happened.
Remember Smith and his woes after a ball clattered into his leg but hopefully only a couple of weeks with a strain.
Other than that we have come off relatively unscathed it seems unlike Liverpool although their next two games are sodas.
Would be nice to have him back before games like Shakhtar or Fulham in the League Cup as Walker cannot go on forever.Seems like a 1 week injury at most
The force of the shot actually hit the end of his foot, knocking his ankle sideways.
So he could be lucky or unlucky with the outcome.
He has not been in the EDS matchday squads for a couple weeks, and unfortunately seems to be quite injury prone. If he stays fit I would love to see him in cup games and potentially against lower tier teams. He was the best player in pre season after Garcia IMOA chance for Bolton? our options are limited.
Still hoping that it might just be a twisted ankle, but it didn't look good on the video. Big blow really, as it means Walker may have to play more than we'd like in the coming weeks. I guess Bolton is an outside bet for the Carabao Cup game.
Do you think Pep truly rates him? He didn't seem to get much playing time last season even when available. Pep rarely rotated him in.
I seem to recall him getting a decent run of games at the back end of last season.
That is when he started to show his qualities. I guess like any player, they just need that bit extra playing time to really get up to speed.
Hope he can stay fit and we see more of him in the coming weeks and months.
