why is it whenever we are linked to a player the same thing comes out,
is maffeo better than danilo ?
is maffeo better than walker.

why the fuck should maffeo get in ahead of anybody if the coaches don't deem him good enough

he will get his chance against quality opposition next season,
he may do well it still doesn't mean he is good enough for city.

we aren't a struggling club, we are aiming high, these kids that come through need to show they really have it, not just good, but are the real deal or they wont get in.

A space opens up, a kid with experience (more experience than Sergio Busquets had before he was put in barca's first team, and at a division higher level), a kid who's shown promise and has trained with the manager. And a transfer dilemma where we want 2 RB's but apparently didn't want to spend too much on all of them.
And the manager that put Busquets in doesn't think Maffeo is ready, maybe he is right.

This all day long

Leaving Maffeo/Danilo aside, we will never be in a stronger position to bring through youth.

We have a manager who has no chance of being sacked (#1 reason used for managers scared of trusting kids), a manager famous for youth development (#2 reason) & we have a massive squad turnover with old players leaving holes for the kids to fill (#3 reason - where's the space).

The Alves deal collapsing was the perfect opportunity. A space opens up, a kid with experience (more experience than Sergio Busquets had before he was put in barca's first team, and at a division higher level), a kid who's shown promise and has trained with the manager. And a transfer dilemma where we want 2 RB's but apparently needed a free transfer because we didn't want to spend too much on 4 fullbacks because funds were needed elsewhere.

Every other club in the world, including Real, Barca, Bayern - the clubs we're trying to emulare - would just use Maffeo.
would they ? real, barca and Bayern are so far ahead in their respective leagues they can maybe use maffeo,we are in a battle for the top 4 with about 7 other teams,as for busquets he obviously showed he was a world class player maffeo hasn't yet .

Not the end of the world for maffeo. If he shines on loan at girona, then loan him to a prem side. If he does well there then bring him back after 2 years and sell danilo, unless danilo does really well, in which case we will have 2 top class right backs and we will make a tidy sum on maffeo. Whats the problem?

I just can't agree with that particular part.

We spent much of last season and the one before scraping from one game to the next. We haven't developed like we should have and I think a lot of that centres around chasing pep. That's another argument though, and he's here now.

We are not in the 'elite'. Not yet. Under Pep I am certain we will get to that level.

And that is the issue in my opinion. I don't think we can get to that level taking chances on kids.

What happens if Walker gets hurt, just before a major cup final. Before a 6 pointer? What happens then?

I just feel that risk there, it's too big. It's too big.

The only way players get a chance is by luck and other players have injuries.
That's why Rashford got a go at United, injuries.
Its how many of our graduates in the past got a chance.
The fact is the top clubs will have bigger squads making it harder for the kids to get a chance.

Man City 'complete deal' for Danilo
By Football Espana staff

Manchester City and Real Madrid have completed a deal for the transfer of Brazilian full-back Danilo, thought to be worth an initial €30m, say reports.

Sky Sport Italia broke the news on Wednesday afternoon that it was a ‘done deal’ between the clubs which looks set to see the defender end an anti-climatic two-year spell in Madrid.

Madrid paid €31.5m to take Danilo from Porto in 2015 and were keen to recoup as much of that as possible, hence their €30m asking price but such a deal with City is also expected to include €5m in add-ons.

Chelsea and Juventus were both strongly linked to the Brazilian but they reportedly were unwilling to go upwards of €20m for any deal.

Danilo made just 25 appearances for Madrid last season in his understudy role to Dani Carvajal at right-back.

And the manager that put Busquets in doesn't think Maffeo is ready, maybe he is right.

Ah, Ok, so Pep only used world class players at Barcelona?

Oh,wait, he didn't did he?

Victor Sanchez, Jeffren, Marc Muniesa, Alberto Botia, Andreu Fontas, J. Dos Santo, Assulin, Bartra, Montoya, Romeu, Sergi Gomez, Ruben Mino, Sergi Roberto, Isaac Cuneca, Deulefeu, Tello, Rafinha.

That load of (mostly) shite clocked up hundreds of appearances for Barcelona under Guardiola because it's Barcelona, and the culture is to use their youth players, he had pressure and expectation, from the fans, from the management, so he used them.
