Let's be honest over the years, the Southampton scouts have a record of picking out some pretty decent players - Mane, Bale, Shaw, Van Dijk are some of the best. I am not saying Ings is at that level, but what I am saying is that the same scouts took a player who'd been injured a lot and sidelined at Liverpool and made him into a decent player. He's done VERY well to rescue his career in my opinion.

He's got 41 goals in 97 games for Southampton. They aren't a great team, but that is a superb ratio. He's not world class, but he's very good. He won't be our first choice in a CL final, but when you want to rest Kane against teams, this lad won't let us down.

I will stick with the cheaper better younger fitter option of Jesus, Ings is off to Tottenham and personally i think he is letting Southampton down, after they resurrected his career hope they screw Levy to the wall.
 
And I have set my sites on a night with Kylie that would be better than when Michael Hutchence got her into handcuffs and cocaine allegedly . But alas I don't think it will happen and nor will Danny Ings dream either!!!!
 
I’m just going to say it, I would take Danny ings over kane if it meant we got him £100 million cheaper!

he would put away just as many chance as kane and if it meant we get haaland next summer or Nunez then this deal would make a lot of sense
 
Ings is a better back up option than Torres who many say can't cut it as a winger and want to be morphed into a backup striker.the issue is we don't need both and Torres is already here.

I'll never get excited for him and its entirely dependant on the entire window, I. E would he be our only forward signing, but for a cheap fee, homegrown, manageable wages and assuming he knows his role, Ings could have a Negredo-esque couple of years here. If we signed him alongside a pacy wide forward who can play upfront too, (An mbappe type) we would have numerous different options and ways of playing.

I wouldn't laugh it off so quickly.
 
Would be a wasted signing and I can't see what he can bring to the team. At least when we signed Ake we hadn't many defenders with real pace

What on earth has shown you that Ings can put away as many chances as Kane?

Signing an injury prone 29yr old on big wages to a 3yr contract, just to try and get Haaland next year is something the rags would do. Not us.

It might be a case of him being the only option though. The false nine works fine some matches, is absolutely hopeless in others, Jesus is not the answer up top so a new striker is imperative. If Ings is the only suitable striker available we'd have to try for him

I would fall through the floor if we signed him just because we haven't got Kane or Haaland. We will keep Jesus and Torres as our options.

Signing Ings makes zero sense.
 
This reminds me of the desperate days when we signed Fowler.
We don’t need him.
Iheanocho is as good as Ings and he wasn’t good enough apparently .
If we can make the Kane or Haaland deal work then fair enough.
If not I’d rather go with what we have including Delap.
Gundo scored more then ings last season, plenty of goal scorers in this squad and I’m confident we’ll score our 100+ as per usual .

Christ, it's Danny Ings, he'll cost £20-25m max to whoever he goes, even if they charge us more it'll be £30m or so. His injury record + 1 year left on contract is why. Can't see it to us though.
