Danny Ings

Good backup player but if you're replacing Jesus with Ings as a backup striker and probably paying more money to do so...then fuck me! Unlikely to happen I'm sure
Agreed but also reports we want 69m euros for Jesus from Juve.

They want a loan with payment next summer.

So probably a loan fee to add to the transfer.

He’s a real clinical finisher. Penalty box finisher if we did sign him to lead the line I think he would score a lot more goals than people realise. Especially with the creators we have in this team. Just injuries. I also think he would join us with a hunger for trophies and wanting to prove people wrong.

12 goals last season and 4 assists , (injuries appeared this season)
22 goals the season before that and 2 assist

Perfect time to buy him. Older and injuries started appearing.

Ffs.

Negredo had a more positive effect on City over half a season than most players we've signed. He raised the roof.
I don’t care what he did off field, that's his own business.
And we got our money back. He thrilled us for 3/4 of a season or whatever with goals and assists, so in my book, was a worthwhile signing. A consummate team player who peaked with us.

Ings could do a proper job as a stop gap in the event we can’t get our top target(s) this window. Whilst we exceeded every expectation without a regular striker last year, it would be foolish to bet on the same again.

Would he sign for us on that basis? At a reasonable transfer fee? No idea.

You seem to have your finger on the pulse with these :). I’ve seen we were loaning him but no mention of fees etc. I think I’d be happy with £60ish million for him. Not what he’s worth but Italian clubs plead poverty and then pay Ramsey £8m per week!

Anyone entertaining the idea of this needs a head wobble

It's so ridiculous it can't be true

Why? Are you judging him as a long term alternative to Kane and Haaland or have you considered all eventualities?

Feel free to make some semi-intelligent analysis rather than yet another throw-away comment.

On this one I just think potentially paying 40m for a stop gap is too much. He's got his injury problems and although definitely knows where the back of the net is, playing up front for City is much more than standing around hoping to gobble up chances. The workrate required in a Pep team doesn't suit Ings, certainly not at this stage of his career.
If we were to lose Jesus as well as Aguero and only replace them with Ings I believe we are much weaker in the forward department going into next season.
Good luck to him though, no problem with him as a player, just don't think he provides us with what we need moving forward.

Great. A reasoned post. If only we could flush one out from the part-time sniper I quoted.

Don't want Kane either. Maybe just maybe I think Danny ings is shit and needless. Would rather give Torres a go or promote one of the kids. Better than pissing away £40m quid

Oh and feel free to not go around aiming snide throwaway comments like the one you aimed from nowhere at Prestwich Blue the other day.
Works both ways you know

Oh, they are both shit. That ends all argument then.

Oh, and by the way, when some random knob pops up with a dig, they can expect both barrels. If you can’t take it, feel free to crawl back under your rock.

They are skint and IF Jesus or for that matter Bernardo do want to move on, we could not have wished for a worse time to sell them.

We are fortunate that we are not desperate for cash and from an accounting point of view, it MAY be an advantage to have guaranteed payments arriving at a later date.

With extra loan fees on top it also COULD result in a better deal for us.
