We do, if we can't buy from the top tier. I'm not at all against going into the season with Gabby, Delap and Torres but I think we need a more powerful seasoned striker leading the line. Ings isn't top tier by any means but he's not bargain basement either. May be worth a punt, he certainly knows where the goal is.

Not a fair comparison, saints only make a couple of chances per game, we make at least a dozen.

I’d be happy with Ings but I just don’t see the need.

I think if you played Jesus as a number 9 for 38 full games as the main striker, he would get more than Ings.

Jesus’ biggest issue is since he has come here he has hardly played consecutive games and has been played in different positions, yet has still scored 82 in 195 games.

He has not played consecutive gams for a reason, he simply is not consistent enough, sometimes looks he part, often looks very ordinary.

If you look at expected goals then Ings has plus 5 and Jesus Minus 15 in those games... Ings far more clinical

I am definitely not pro Ings but we are comparing two different teams in City and Southampton. Need to also compare the number of goals scored by both teams in that period.
