Some of our rumoured targets are very impressive. But some, like this, are genuinely terrifying and would doom us to Europa League level if they comprised the majority of our buys. A Spurs fan told me: "Please take him, he can't defend or attack."

Please... buy elite talent only and if we run out of money, fill the squad with our OWN youth players like Angelino.

Surely the plan next season will be to be a better first choice left back than either Clichy or Kolarov. Then sell Kolarov and send Angelino on loan and if he impresses he comes back to compete the following season.

Of course these things rarely run as smooth as we want them to.

this is how it should be done IMO for both FB positions (after we have addressed the midfield and winger situation)

Get someone in who is superior but defensively and offensively that either of our options at fullback, move the older/non-HG/poorer option out, keep the other as backup/rotation for 1-2 more seasons, and in the meantime loan/develop Angelino and Maffeo for a squad role in the future

It does seem like tge 'best team in their world' plan has been scrapped for the old Arsenal model
